Synaesthesia piece

So far on our synasthesia piece we have done texture with white tissue paper. Miss Burley but on music and we had to listen to the music and create the texture that the music told us to do. Then we but some colour on it with water down spray ink. we again listened to music and picked the colour that best described it. We then put another colour of ink on it, my two colours were orange and pink. The next lesson we did feel/touch and we held an iceblock and painted in the patterns and colours that the feeling of the ice block gave us. I picked an aqua colour and made the paint really watered down and light. After that we did the opposite and put our hands over a candle. This feeling was warm and nice. I picked the colour yellow and but the paint on sharp and dark.

Rangoli

In our art lesson on tuesday the 2nd of November we went to reeves and worked on the massive year seven rangoli. We found a section that hadn't been decorated yet and in groups we worked on it. Some of the things we used to create pretty and different patters where paddle pop sticks, gold bangles, pins, straws, cds and red, yellow and pink bottle tops. The rangoli was a really good thing to do because it brought all of year seven into one piece of artwork. Everyone pitched in and helped to create such a beautiful rangoli. I really enjoyed working on the Rangoli as it was relaxing and also fun to create new patterns. The rangoli was very colour full from all the different objects that were used. The rangoli had balance because we followed in the chalk lines and had the shape but then filled it in. i think the middle section is really good because it is all filled in and the colours and the shapes used give a good effect.

My Enviroment poster

.

I made my environmental poster using power point. I have a picture of a red amaryllis flower and my quote is We all tend to feel better in the natural environment, so why are we working so hard to destroy it? and is by Dr Michael Dixon, Chairman. One of my designs has big bold writing for the quote and the flower is tilted to the side. On my other design the background image is the flower and is set to tile style so the picture is like tiles for the background. The quote is in white handwriting. Overall i am very happy with my poster designs and i think they will inspire people to look after the environment better.

My canvas painting of a tomato

.

so far on my canvass i have painted the background green and got the basic shape and colours of the tomato. I started some of the detail in the middle of the tomato and ruined it because it looked like big blob. i was not happy with my painting so i painted over all the middle of the tomato with a deep red colour. that lesson i did not do anything else because i wanted to wait till next lesson when it was dry. the next lesson i improved the detail and am now very happy with it. i found it a bit hard to creat the pinky fleshy colour that is in the tomato. i think i have the right ted colours in the tomato and the shape of the tomato i have painted looks like a tomato.

Welcome to sally Harrison’s art exhibition. Sally was born on the 26th of January 1949 she is aborigine. Sally grew up in an orphanage because the government took all the aboriginals to live in an orphanage with white kids. Sally never got to meet her dad and only ten years ago did she get to meet her mum. Sally was a self taught artist and took up dot painting in 1992. In 2003 she won the Bremer Institute of TAFE Special Achievement Award and in 2006 she won Best of Show Ipswich Art Awards. Recently sally came in to talk to us about her life and how she paints. Our name for her is Aunty Sally. She talked to us about how painting lets her forget about her life and just be free with her painting. Aunty Sally taught us to be relaxed with our painting, she did this by making us use our fingers to paint. She also taught us a bit about dot painting and how she creates the movement with the dots in the painting. Thank you for listening.
